BOIL WATER ADVISORY
Town of Hope Water Utility
Boil Water Advisory
Effective Immediately
The Town of Hope Water Utility Department has issued a Boil Water Advisory for all customers due to a loss of water pressure and/or a disruption in the water distribution system. As a precautionary measure, residents are advised to boil all water used for drinking and cooking until further notice.
What You Should Do
Until this advisory is lifted:
Bring all water to a rolling boil for at least five (5) minutes before using it for:
Drinking
Preparing food or beverages
Making ice
Brushing teeth
Washing fruits and vegetables
Preparing infant formula
Giving water to pets
You may use tap water for bathing, showering, laundry, and washing dishes; however, use caution to avoid swallowing water during these activities.
Why This Advisory Has Been Issued
When water pressure drops below acceptable levels, there is an increased risk that harmful bacteria or other microorganisms could enter the water distribution system. Although there is no confirmation that the water is contaminated, this advisory is being issued as a precaution to protect public health.
When Will the Advisory Be Lifted?
The advisory will remain in effect until Saturday, July 18th 2:00 a.m., so the system can be properly disinfected, and laboratory testing confirms the water is safe for consumption.
We apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your patience and cooperation.
